AIR FRANCE AND KENYAN AIRWAYS SIGN JOINT VENTURE

Air France, KLM JV and KQ forms Joint Venture 

Air France which merged with the dutch KLM in 2004 have signed a joint venture with Kenyan Airways (KQ). This agreement allows for direct flights between Paris and Nairobi. Passengers can now connect to 26 and 57 other destinations beyond Nairobi and Paris, respectively.

Air France will operate three weekly flights between Nairobi and Paris. It will be flying its latest Boeing 787 Dreamliner on this route. The Dreamliner have 30 seats in business class,  20 in Premium Economy class and 225 seats in Economy class.

Customers of Air France, KLM and also KQ can now also reserve flights for Amsterdam and Nairobi routes.

Growing economic ties between Kenya and France is responsible for this joint venture. More than 80 French companies have selected Nairobi as their regional hub.

The new agreement also allows the three carriers to conduct concerted marketing and sales activities, align and coordinate pricing of tickets as well as exchange of staff in select areas.
