CONSTRUCTION OF 1,727 HOUSING UNITS IN EDO STATE NIGERIA KICKS OFF.
Vice President of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osinbajo kicks off the housing project in Edo State.
The Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo kicked off the construction of 1,727 houses in Edo State. The estate which is named “Emotan Garden Estate” is in line with the purpose of reviving Edo State economy. The estate is located in Egba, Ikopba Okha Local Government Area.
The Edo Development and Property Agency, EDPA and MIXTA Africa are working together and will to intensify work on the estate.
Prof. Osinbajo encouraged the Governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki for his resourcefulness since he entered power. The project will develop the states economy.
The project will to create a minimum of 200,000 jobs in agriculture, construction and manufacturing sectors, among others. Also, 80% of the material for construction will come from the local area.
The government is starting a new pattern in a bid to provide affordable housing for the citizens of the state. The houses will sell from about US $8,340 to no more than US $33,360. This is a landmark project that holds a lot of history for the state of Edo as it is the first state government housing project in the state after 16 years.
