CONSTRUCTION OF NEW MALL BEGINS IN BOTSWANA
Smart Partnership Enterprises (SPE) has released a statement about the commencement of a new mall in Botswana. The 26000m2 retail centre mall will be called The Fields Mall.
Speaking during the ceremony SPE chairperson, Sam Mpuchane said the specific purpose of the project is to ensure that major retail developments in the Central Business District (CBD) were owned and developed by Batswana.
He noted that the the name, ”The Fields Mall” was inspired by the name, The Cotton Fields which the area comprising CBD and Phase 2 was commonly known as before.
Meanwhile, the project which will be worth US$26.2m (P300million) will have a completion date slated for April 2022. It is also estimated that the mall would consist of 70 shops, with a number of reputable retailers and anchor tenants being Spar, Pick n Pay and Woolworths.
