EASTERN SOUTH AFRICA WITHOUT WATER DUE TO LOCK DOWN

Residents from Eastern cape in South Africa has written to Government over the lack of drinking water in the region. But will the government look at those complaint?

The corona virus has really shocked the world with African nations now facing potential problem. Its been over three weeks since South Africa imposed a lock down with communities from several Eastern Cape now feeling the effect due to lack of drinking water.

These has made several Eastern Cape leaders write to the premier of the province for interventions. Reports from social media shows that thousand of tanks where apparently seen coming to the area but still have not reached it location according to local media house Daily Maverick.No water for 3 months in Eastern Cape, South Africa - The ...

This tank was meant to be part of the government’s interventions to fight the spread of the corona virus but desperate communities are still struggling to access water as over 30 organizations have written to the premier asking for his help.

President Cyril Ramaphosa described the virus as a national disaster as the lock down due to end on 16 April was extended to 30 April.

The major questions now is, what are resident from the eastern cape villages going to do? Will the government look at those complained and how long can resident continue to wait till the so called thousand tanks arrive?
