ETHIOPIA GOVERNMENT AND ODF LEADERS COME TOGETHER TO PROMOTE UNITY IN THE COUNTRY.

Ethiopia’s prime minister, Abiy Ahmed has met with representatives of exiled opposition party, the Oromo Democratic Front (ODF) after the latter agreed to participate in Ethiopia’s political discourse peacefully.

Oromo Democratic Front (ODF) and the Government of Ethiopia has come to an agreement to resume democratic processes in the country. The location of the meeting is still unknown.

Hence, the party will operate alone or form alliances with other political party. The chairman of Front, Lencho Leta confirmed the information on arrival at the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa.

Leta commended the ongoing democratic reform in the country and called on other parties to return to the country.

The ruling party has released political prisoners, changed leadership and closed the ill-framed Maekelawi prison.

The current Prime Minister has met with opposition leaders, assuring that he will lead the country out of destructive politics. He took office on April 2 and since then has gone round the country to hear from the suppressed voices.
