JAPAN TO BUILD DORMITORY FOR RUHANGO SCHOOL IN RWANDA

Japan release grant for construction of a dormitory in ruhango to help the communities.

The dormitory is for a catholic vocational training school based in Ruhango.  The cost of the dormitory is worth Rwf68m and will accommodate up to 400 students.

The project will support the school with over 300 students whom are orphans by paying tuition and accommodation fees.

Japanese envoy to Rwanda, Takayuki Miyashita; “The new dormitory is expected to provide proper accommodation to the students,”

According to him, “it will also reduce the number of students who walk long distances to school, and allow the school to admit 100 more students.”

The project will help the students facing challenges with accommodation especially does that walk 7 to 10 kilometres on foot to school everyday. It will also improve the welfare of the local population by creating new employment opportunities.

Headmaster of the school, Gerard Hakizimana, “First, the social welfare of the 400 students will improve tremendously,”

According to him, This project will increase the number of students in our school by 25 per cent.”

The Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) has supported the country for over 90 projects in the last 20 years. The project supported are education, water and sanitation, as well as agricultural development.
