KWESIMINTSIM STORM DRAIN CONSTRUCTION BEGINS IN GHANA
Construction of Kwesimintsim storm drain has kicked off in Ghana. The project which is worth GH¢3.2 million will be able to control the drains at Effia-Kwesimitsim municipality in the Western Region of the nation.
The initiative is part of the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Programme funded with an Urban Development Grant from the World Bank that is under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD).
According to Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), Mr Kojo Acquah who noted that the project is dear to our hearts as well as calling for patience from the community.
Meanwhile, M/S Finishers who is executing the project has assured the community that it will finish the project by December this year.
The project will also includes a 500-metre storm drain from the Kojo Kum Avenue to the Kwesimintsim Hospital and a pedestrian walkway with completion date set for January 30, 2021.
During the ceremony, Chief of Kwesimintsim, Nana Agudzi Essoun, expressed his joy about the project, as well as believing that it would reduce the perennial flooding in the area and beyond.
