LILONGWE CARRIAGEWAY TO TAKE SHAPE IN MALAWI
Lilongwe carriageway to take shape after plans to demolish six classroom building are in motion.
Construction of Lilongwe carriageway is taking shape as plans for demolition of six classroom building at Chimutu primary school will soon take place. The demiotion will pave way for the project to kick-off.
Head teacher of Chimutu Primary School, Linney Magombo said Contractor will pay for all the cost of constructing the new building as the current one pose a threat. She said that the classroom building were in danger of road accident.
The dual carriageway also involves fuming of over 300 bodies from a graveyard near Chimutu primary school in Area 18. It will also be the first in the country to have an interchange at Area 18 Roundabout. This is will help reduce congestion in the area.
The project is been funded by both Japan and Chinese government. Meanwhile, the government has link other road construction project to the dual carriageway. Such project include turning the Biwi-Triangle crossroad section into a dual carriageway. While Mchinji roundabout to both kanengo and Kamuzu international Airport.
