Nigeria Engineers looking for new ways to use concrete roads as it last longer than normal asphalt.

South-East Nigeria Engineers are currently asking for concrete roads in the area. This development comes after a retired civil engineer gave this remark.

The aim is to have a road that will last about 15 to 18 years before developing cracks and potholes.

Site Engineer at the HELIU Residences, Engr. Fred Okoli said the it was necessary for southeast governments to copy the example of Ebonyi State government. He also said they have built some of its city roads on concrete.”

According to him, the road may be costly but it will be better for the people to have quality road. It will also help reduce the failure rate of asphalt on the road which is currently very high.

The road concrete has already been adopted by Dangote group as the construction of the longest road is currently in progress. Meanwhile, Engr Fred feels it will help and last the region for a long period instead of normal construction using normal asphalt.
