SGRE OPEN NEW ROTOR BLADE FACTORY IN MOROCCO

New rotor blade factory open  in Morocco that will help the country achieve its production of electricity goals and also create job opportunities.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE), formerly Grupo Auxiliar Metalúrgico, is a Spanish manufacturing company principally involved in the fabrication of wind turbines and the construction of wind farms has opened a new rotor blade factor in morocco.

The plant which is expected to service Africa and the Middle East with wind turbine blades that is 100% made in Morocco and will manufacture B63-10 blades with a length of 63 m for export to Europe, Africa and the Middle East, as well as for local projects.

Siemens Gamesa CEO, Markus Tacke; “This factory is good for our company and a solid business decision because we invest where we see strong business opportunities and the opportunities here in Morocco are stronger than ever before,”

According to him; ”This location in Tangier provides us with direct access to some of the most important markets of tomorrow. To begin with, Morocco, throughout the Middle East, in Europe, and in the Mediterranean region.”

The 37500m² factory is expected to create 600 jobs, as well as an estimated 500 auxiliary jobs plus also help in playing a major role in Morocco’s national programme which is aimed at achieving production of electricity from clean energy up to 52% by 2030, of which 20% is generated by wind.
