SOUTH AFRICA LIMPOPO ROAD PROJECT NEEDS R7 BILLION FUNDS
Unfinished Limpopo road needs fund for repair and also construction as resident protest.
Limpopo road project needs the sum of R7bn before it can be complete. The project is part of a plans to extend a certain kilometres (12km) of the road. It will also have an assessment to establish how the road will be completed.
Spokesperson for the provincial department, Joshua Kwapa said the department currently does not have the budget to complete unfinished roads in the 2018/19 financial year. He also said New assessments on the road will give us the costs of its completion.”
Six people were arrested after a riot from resident in the area. The resident were demanding the delivery of basic services from the municipality. One of demand include the completion of the D3322 road outside Senwabarwana.
The problem facing the road is that they have not include it in the budget. Meanwhile graders are currently been use to ensure that the road is passable.
The arrested suspect will appear in court on different charges. This charges will include incitement of violence, theft, malicious damage to property and public violence.
